When does "no" mean "no"? Couldn't 1.5million be put to better use? Wouldn't that amount of money be able to address the needs of more than a small fraciton of MRC children? I think it could and it should. Read on

The final tally was 2531 signatures and they were turned in yesterday at 3pm. Thanks to all the circulators and to all the signers. I will update as we proceed in this process.

Wednesday March 12, 2008---Turn in the Petition Day.

We currently have 2,471 signatures which will be handed into our Township Clerk by the close of business today (4:30pm). We will see whether the Mayor and Council are interested in the residents wish for a referendum vote on synthetic turf or whether they will force us to go back and start all over with a new petition. Their choices will be noted and will be referred back to during the next few May elections. I don't think voters will forgive or forget on this issue AGAIN.

***The following email contains a threatening email sent to Evesham employees. This is so out of control that I wish there was a way to impeach the mayor and council. They have lost all objectivity. Is sports that important? 1% of children who play will make a career of it. How many of the same kids have been to a bookstore or art museum or learned to play an instrument.

Back to the fields. The tactics used by this administration should be cause for them to be under suspicion for underhanded dealings. The economy is predicted to worsen with more recession and more layoffs. The price of fuel expected to reach over $4 a gallon. It is time to save money not spend. There is a story that the rec council has 500,000 in their account. What is that money for? Why not use that for field improvement?

Cherry Hill. My daughter pulled him out of the program due to his getting
small rubber pellets in his eyes. The management at the center told her
"that happens all the time......

no one has brought up the fact that there has been no engineering reports as of yet to determine how the rain water and other debree will be drained and where it would be going. According to the township engineer it is illegal for rain water etc. to be piped into the sewer system and if it is allowed then they are in violation of their own law.

***I wrote Emily Capella when some parents at Shawnee wanted to gift their artificial turf field & didn't get my questions answered. She was afraid to put anything in writing. As she was quoted in the papers, she believes the majority voted against the fields due to tax implications. I told her that wasn't my reasoning. Mine are health, maintenance, life expectancy of the field with so many teams using it. She didn't answer these concerns. Randy Brown states that if there were such a problem, the NFLPA wouldn't allow them in the NFL. Well, Mr Brown, why are all of these teams going back to real turf? Why are the NFL & MLB teams going away from multi-purpose stadiums?
